#Collaboration and Partnership - 5th WomenEd Unconference

Collaboration--Partnership-2

By Vivienne Porritt @ViviennePorritt

Our 5th Unconference this Saturday, 5th October is going to be special. We’re keeping our tradition of all of us meeting together at the beginning and end of the day and celebrating what our #community has achieved since last year. We do have some new elements to build our engagement across the community so look out for those. We will also share some exciting things we are doing to improve #communication.

What is also special is our mix of partners and exhibitors this year and we are very grateful to them for supporting #WomenEd.

We want you to go and talk with them and find out what they can offer you. We choose the partners with whom we collaborate carefully so let me tell you more about them.

@CEREducation is a leading recruitment company, working across the education sector with teachers, TAs, lecturers, schools, colleges & nurseries. Our partnership, which came into effect from July 2019, is founded on the shared values held by both organisations. #WomenEd will benefit from the partnership as our powerful social media networking will be amplified through CER’s own expansive networks across the country, enabling us to make contact with more women who do not use social media. This is particularly relevant for supply teachers who face the added challenge of isolation from school support and can be empowered, through connection with #WomenEd, to become well equipped for the job market.
Vikki Lowery has recently been promoted to Managing Director of CER, working alongside CEO, Esme Bianci-Barry. Vikki is a passionate supporter of #WomenEd: ‘I am hugely grateful to be representing women at board level, allowing our voice to be heard and giving us the skills and experience to empower women in our workforce. Movements like WomenEd inspire hope and give real advice and support to women in education and now a wider audience, myself included. I was encouraged to be ‘10% braver’ and this is something that resonates. We back women to be brave. This is twofold for our supply staff and CER internal staff.’ Talk with @CEREducation to see how they can help you.

@Ambition_Institute are partners with #WomenEd for the 3rd women-only NPQH cohort. The feedback from women says this is a phenomenal opportunity and there are limited scholarships available for particular regions. Talk to them to find out more!

@indiversecomp manage the DfE Coaching Pledge. You will hear more if you join a #LeadMeet and further details are available from their exhibition stand. You can access a free coach so find out more!

@TheDifferenceEd are seeking the most capable, curious and compassionate teachers from Yorks&Humber, the North West and London to join The Difference programme in Sep 2020. Do you have the drive for a #challenge; a commitment to social justice; the skill to lead and the hunger to learn? Then talk with Kiran Gill at her exhibition stand.

Other long-standing partners continue to support you to be #10%braver.

@SHU_SIoE. We are very grateful to @samtwiselton for the terrific venue and to Sean Cavan for all his support.

@Tes_Institute. Their continued support to provide a creche at #WomenEd events has enabled more women to join us on Saturday.

Finally, @WholeEducation are curating a series of events around a Big Education Question. We want to focus on flexible working practices as our contribution and it would be great if network leaders had one event this year with this as the focus. @WomenEdLondon is piloting one on 26th November so we will share more after that! Please visit the exhibition and tweet out thanks to these partners for their support which enables #WomenEd to continue to grow and empower more women globally. And have a brilliant day!
