This is a tricky one to write. 

It's been a tough year for so many of us. It's been a tough year for me. The community of #WomenEd continues to be a source of inspiration and support.

I am more than ever guided by my core values. Honesty, kindness, authenticity, being brave and calling out misdeeds, recognising my vulnerability as a source of strength and not a sign of weakness. We are, #WomenEd, stronger in our networks, collaborations, and teams.

I try to be 10%Braver as I work through my good, my bad and my hard. In this moment of pausing and reflecting I want to be heard saying thanks to everyone who has been there for me in the #WomenEd community.

On the July 3^rd my parents celebrated their 60^th Wedding Anniversary. This was special because 30 family members and friends got to celebrate. The lifting of the pandemic restrictions on gatherings was perfectly timed. We knew that we did not have much time.

On 26^th September, my father died. He had been very ill, diagnosed with cancer two years earlier. He'd fought hard, endured chemotherapy which drained him of life. I had not been able to see much of him over the last two years. That day in July was a highlight. I was able to speak to all that had gathered and highlight the incredible life of my dad. 

My dad heard me say thank you.

On October 14^th I was presented with a University Award. This was a staff and peers nomination. 

This is a highlight; this is an achievement. 

I heard people say thank you Kerry, for being an Outstanding Leader.

On November 23^rd, I had the final review for my Doctoral Thesis. I heard my supervisor say that this was fine piece of writing. Final revisions to be made, and a submission date agreed for end of January 2022.
